P eace and Blessings Poetry Family
Your endless love and support over the years has been a remarkable blessing. Those of you that have experienced the healing powers of spoken word poetry understand its transformative influence in saving lives through education, inspiration, peace and love. Sacred, my gift of word to the world is a journey of love that poetically explores the heart wrenching pain of Hurricane Katrina and the inspirational lives of Gordon Parks and Coretta Scott King, to the brilliant musical production of Michael Cox. It takes the listener through one woman’s true life experience with HIV to the importance of teaching our daughters their value until we are “Fallin” drunk with love as inspired by the thirteenth century poet Rumi. The final track, “Dreams at Stake”, featuring Dante on background vocals, is a call to Brooklyn youth to rise above the ravages of HIV and negativity in fulfillment of their dreams. Working with Michael Cox has been an amazing experience. The energy and passion of this one-man wonder is evident on every track. His musicality and mind-blowing interpretation of my poetry is an experience that will take our listeners to another level with his driving background vocals, keyboard, guitar and stellar bass accompaniment. Inner-standing is the magic behind Sacred and the synergy of our band Rhythm Justice which features James Pelton, Michael Cox, Sean Brock and Aquah Tcherbu. I want to thank God for making Sacred possible and for the phenomenal individuals who lovingly reviewed my CD.
